Jamie Set For Shock Return

Dons winger Jamie Smith is set to be named in the squad to face Livingston on Saturday.

The club's top scorer has been out since suffering an injury at the end of the 1-0 win over Falkirk at Pittodrie last month.

The 25-year-old has scored 9 goals this season for the Dons, the same amount as Scotland Futures striker Lee Miller, and was expected to be out for up to six weeks.

However, thanks to physiotherapist John Sharp, Smith has made a quicker recovery than originally thought.

Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood told the Evening Express: "The good news is Jamie Smith trained today and if he doesn't suffer any reaction then he will be available for selection for the Livingston match.

"That's a great boost because he's such a threat and not only is he our top scorer, he's also a very creative player."

The Dons may be without Zander Diamond and Kevin McNaughton however, as both are losing the race to be fit after picking up knocks last week.

Calderwood said of the pair: "They did a bit more work today but they have only got a 50-50 chance of making the game."
