THORNLEY LEAVES PITTODRIE

Former Manchester United winger Ben Thornley has left Aberdeen to join English Division Two side Blackpool.

Thornley, 27, has signed an 18-month contract - but will be unable to play until January due to the restrictions of the transfer window.

"We are delighted he has agreed to join us," Blackpool boss Steve McMahon told the Seasiders' website.

Thornley had only started 17 games since joining the Dons from Huddersfield in August 2001.
