Elgin City 0 Aberdeen XI 5

Aberdeen put on a Five Star performance as boss Jimmy Calderwood showed he is no 'System Addict' by tinkering with the personnel again.

'Strong as Steel' full-back Richie Byrne played on the left side of midfield and helped himself to two goals, and 'Can't Wait Another Minute' to get back on the scoresheet.

Chris Clark, Chris 'Phil' Maguire and Darren Mackie were the Dons other goalscorers, the latter making it 3 in two games and reminding his boss that he will score goals come 'Rain or Shine'.

Maguire looked lively, but there is still the worry that he will go down with 'The Slightest Touch'.

Calderwood told RedWeb: "I thought we were very sloppy in the first half but we had two great strikes.

"We lifted the pace in the second half and I was pleased with the way we took our goals.

"I have to be happy considering the amount of changes we made from Thursday.

"All credit to Elgin thought as they gave us a good test."

"Byrne did very well and scored two great goals. He was a bit annoyed when he had to go back into defence as he was looking for his hat-trick."
