Dons Support Split On Stadium Move

Last updated : 19 September 2012 By Stand Free Ed

The group polled the Red Army in the aftermath of Aberdeen City Council's decision to reject plans for a Cove training facility last month.

The facility was crucial to Aberdeen's plans for a brand new purpose-built stadium at Loirston Loch, which was due to be built in time for the 2013/14 season.

And the Dons support has overwhelmingly rejected the council's decision, by 87% to 13%.

But, perhaps surprisingly, two-thirds of those surveyed would not like AFC to remain at Pittodrie now that Loirston has been thrown out by ACC.

And seemingly at odds with this, just over half would like to see the AFC board seek investment to redevelop the club's current stadium.

DST received 584 responses, and have now written to Aberdeen City Council expressing the views of their members. The results for the survey are shown in full below.
