Simmie received the award on Tuesday, before his Benefit Match against Man Utd which the Dons won 2-1.
The award was presented by DST board member Bill Stephen, known to Aberdeen Mad regulars as Paralysed_Sheep_83.
Simmie is the fifth recipient of the DONS award, following all-time top scorer Joey Harper, multiple trophy-winning captain Willie Miller, club legend Teddy Scott, and AFC superfan Norman Goldie.
