Aberdeen captain Russell Anderson will not fly to Kiev with the rest of the Scotland squad tomorrow.

Anderson joined the Scotland squad's preparation for the France game last week despite carrying an injury.

The skipper limped off during the heartbreaking loss to Rangers at Ibrox last Sunday but met up with the Scotland squad on Tuesday determined to shake off his knock.

However he will not be risked against Ukraine and will be assessed by the Dons medical staff before Saturday's trip to Kilmarnock.

Hibernian defender Steven Whittaker has been called up to the Scotland squad to replace Anderson with Christian Dailly also ruled out through suspension.
