Bebo Scoops Young Player Of The Month Gong

DONS striker Chris 'Bebo' Maguire has been named the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for September.

Maguire has been the outstanding player as the Scotland Under-21s reached the Euro Championship play-offs, and has struck a good partnership with new Dons forward Scott Vernon in recent weeks.

He was also Aberdeen's man of the match in the recent game against Rangers, despite an unfortunate red card, with a goal and an assist as the Dons lost 3-2.

Bebo told RedTV: "It's great to get recognised for playing well but as soon as I found out I was a bit surprised to be honest.

"If people have seen you put in good performances over the month and are willing to give you the award then it does help going in to the next month to try and push on and get another one.

"I think it helps to be involved every week, the more you play the more your confidence is boosted. I feel I've been more consistent this season because I've been playing every game and hopefully people watching will see that.

"I think the manager has been pleased, well I hope he has. I must be doing something right if I keep playing each week but again it's just nice to be playing and going out there scoring goals to help the team."
