Dons Check Out Two Trialists

ABERDEEN are taking a look at two defensive trialists as Mark McGhee tries to plug the Dons' leaky defence.

Italian Davide Grassi, 23, can play as a left back or in central defence.

He progressed through the ranks at hometown club Parma before spells in the Spanish second division with Merida and Sant Andreu.

And the player recently spent some time on trial at Bournemouth AFC before being let go.

Meanwhile 22-year-old Spanish right-back Aitor Fernandez Lopez has also arrived at Pittodrie.

Lopez has played for Espanyol and Racing Santander in La Liga.

The pair are the seventh and eighth trialists looked at in the past week, joining Jerel Ifil, Craig Rocastle, Rohan Ricketts, Randy Mullet, Idrissa Alassane and Mazim Ahmed under the manager's microscope.

McGhee is keen to strengthen the Dons squad with the transfer window set to gravitate secure in only two weeks' time.

There will be more info on the players to come, but we promise there will be no gay photos of the players on Union Street.
