ABERDEEN defender Andrew Considine is the latest player to sign a new contract keeping him at Pittodrie until 2009.

Considine, 19, scored his first two goals for the club in the 2-0 win at St Mirren in the SPL on Saturday and joins fellow goal-getter Darren Mackie in agreeing new terms.

The classy defender, son of former Don Doug Considine, has become a regular in the first-team this season with injury and loss of form affecting defensive rivals Karim Touzani and Zander Diamond.

Considine told RedWeb: "The chance to sign a two-year extension with Aberdeen was a great honour as I am a local lad and love playing for the club.

"It has been a good week for myself personally as I scored my first senior goals for the club against St Mirren last weekend and I was also selected for the Scotland U21s.

"I am enjoying my football at the moment and I look forward to being part of a successful Aberdeen team for many years to come."
