Dons Won't Kerr On The Side Of Caution

DONS midfield dynamo Mark Kerr thinks the race for third place in the SPL is wide open - meaning exciting times for fans and players alike.

The Dons twice came from behind to earn a point in a gripping encounter at Pittodrie against Dundee United, and extend their unbeaten home run to eight games.

And the Dons support has got behind the team in the run-in, with a crowd of 14,673 packed into Pittodrie on Saturday - the largest crowd for a United game in 10 years.

Fellow euro hopefuls Hearts failed to capitalise on the Dons' draw by conceding an injury-time equaliser to St Mirren at Tynecastle.

And with the Tarts heading to Tannadice next Saturday, Kerr believes a win over Kilmarnock in Aberdeen's next fixture will bring them right back into the battle to finish third.

Kerr said: "From a fan's point of view, the race for third looks like it is going to be very exciting.

"Nobody is out of the race yet, and some of the other teams below us in the league will be looking to pull themselves back into the hunt.

"We have a home game against Kilmarnock next week - and if we can get the three points then we are definitely still in it."
