Full Strength Dons take on Elgin

The Aberdeen squad for tonight's testimonial for Elgin 'keeper Martin Pirie has been announced, and it contains every first team regular not injured or involved in international squads. That means ommissions for Russell Anderson, Richard Foster (surprisingly) and Scott Morrison who are all on international duty; and Chris Clark, Noel Whelan, John Stewart and of course Zander Diamond who are all still keeping the club doctors busy. Presumably Zander would have been involved in the Scotland U21 squad even if fit, and perhaps the full squad!
This must slightly grate for Scott Severin, who has been involved in a recent Scotland fixture but finds himself in the less intense atmosphere of Borough Briggs during a friendly match. However, if the strong midfielder keeps up his form, he will surely be involved in Scotland games in the future.
