Mulgrew Mulls Over 'Harsh' Red Card

DONS full-back Charlie Mulgrew has had three weeks to contemplate his unfair red card - and he is desperate to face Hearts on Saturday.

The lethal left-footer was red-carded by Mike Mockery at Pittodrie for deliberate handball due to the assistant referee not knowing the offside rule - the only rule they need to know.

The appeal was thrown out due to the SPL's ridiculous rules and Mulgrew was forced to serve a one-match ban after the international break.

But rather than being bitter, the Scotland Under-21 star has been chomping at the bit to get back into action - although he is aware that he is at the mercy of Tango's Tactical Tombola.

He said: "It has been a really frustrating few weeks.

"It is never nice to miss any games, but especially when I thought the red card given to me in the game against Hibs was a bit harsh.

"There is nothing I can do about it now. It is in the past I am just looking forward to Saturday and the chance to play at Tynecastle. I am desperate to play, so hopefully I can be involved.

"The team did well at Falkirk, so I will have to wait to see what the manager is going to decide."
