YOUNG Dons star Peter Pawlett has been named the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for November.

The 18-year-old forward was in great form for Aberdeen during the previous month, with a Man of the Match performance in the win over St Johnstone and a confident display in the victory over Rangers.

The attacking midfielder also won his first cap for Scotland Under 19's in a draw with Germany.

The dream month for Pawlett also included signing a new four-and-a-half year contract with the Dons.

The deal, which ties the dynamic youngster to the club until 2014, will prove to be excellent business for the Dons if he continues in this award-winning vein.

Pawlett says: "I'm absolutely delighted to win the award. The manager has given me the chance and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

"The team has been in really good form recently, apart from the weekend of course, and hopefully we will get back to winning ways on Saturday.

"Being a young boy in the first team and picking up this award has given my plenty of confidence."
