Real Scottish People's League Week 23

Leaders Motherwell continued to struggle at home after a 1-0 loss to Inverness Caley Thistle today - cutting their lead at the top to a mere 3 points. Well have only scored six goals at Fir Park this season, which is threatening to ruin their chances of securing an inaugural Real SPL title.

By contrast, Hearts' superb home form continued as they closed in on the Lanarkshire side courtesy of a 5-2 demolition of St Mirren - with former Motherwell man John Sutton putting the ironic icing on the fairytale cake with the fifth goal.

Elsewhere, Hibs won a see-saw contest at East End Park to edge a five-goal bottom-of-the-table clash 3-2. The end-to-end nailbiter has left the Pars three points adrift at the bottom with a game in hand, with all to play for in the relegation battle.

In the remaining game, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock played out a stalemate at Pittodrie; the 0-0 draw helping neither team in their chase to reach the European play-off places.

It's hard to believe that a mere four weeks ago Motherwell had a seemingly-unassailable 11-point lead at the top of the RSPL - but it just goes to show how exciting and spontaneous this superb new league is without having two behemoths dominating matters at the top of the table.
