Real Scottish People's League Week 8

Motherwell have finally lost a game this season, and it came in unlikely circumstances - at home to the bottom club St Johnstone by three goals to nil. The Lanarkshire club remain on top of the Real SPL while their victorious opponents climbed off the foot, overtaking Aberdeen, Hibs and Inverness Caley Thistle.

The green side of Edinburgh were 2-0 up at East End Park but a spirited Dunfermline side fought back to take a point in a 2-2 draw in fromt of the ESPN cameras at lunchtime.

The RSPL's previously second-top club Kilmarnock were another team held to a 2-2 draw after being 2-0 up, in their case away to Aberdeen. Hearts replaced the Ayrshire club in second place after their comfortable 2-0 win over St Mirren at Tynecastle and are in a good position to be the first club to put real pressure on runaway leaders Motherwell, sitting only two points off the top spot.

The final game in what was a full card of Real SPL fixtures, every one of which took place at the tradition time of Saturday afternoon, saw Dundee Utd see off new bottom club Inverness Caley Thistle 3-1 at Tannadice.
