Dons midfield dynamo Scott Severin has been drafted into Scotland's squad for the World Cup qualifier in Norway. Severin flew out to Oslo on Monday morning as cover with minor injuries affecting Nigel Quashie, Barry Ferguson and Darren Fletcher. Christian Dailly, who played the 'sitting' role in Walter Smith's successful 4-1-4-1 formation on Saturday, is suspended from the team for the Norway game and that role could easily suit Sevvy's style of play. Severin also adds passing ability, a fierce shot and comfort on the ball to defensive ability - all attributes that were lacking from Dailly and particularly Ferguson's play on Saturday.

Daft as a brush Dons 'keeper Ryan Esson has also picked up his second call-up to the Scotland squad as extra goalkeeping cover.

Meanwhile Aberdeen captain Russell Anderson has arrived back at Pittodrie after dropping out of the international squad for the must-win game with an ankle injury. Ando picked up the knock during a Scotland training session last week, but it is hoped he will be fit for Saturday's SPL encounter at Celtic Park.
