Smith Faces Groin Scan

JAMIE SMITH has picked up another groin injury only two weeks after signing a new contract with Aberdeen.

Smith missed six weeks of competitive action this season after having an operation on his stomach at the beginning of September.

The winger was subbed at half time during yesterday's defeat to Rangers after a very poor first half by the wee man's standards.

And Jimmy Calderwood confirmed that Jinky will be assessed by the Pittodrie doctors this week, meaning he is unlikely to line up against Kilmarnock on Boxing Day.

He said: "Jamie Smith was brought off as he hurt his groin in the first half.

"Our medical staff will asses him over the coming days and see how he is."
