Vernon Desperate to Score Against Rangers

DONS goalscoring sensation Scott Vernon is hoping to keep his run going when Rangers visit Fortress Pittodrie on Sunday.

The striker took his tally to four goals in the last three matches - his only three starts for the Dons - when he bagged a vital brace to beat Raith Rovers in the Co-operative Insurance League Cup.

And Big Vern can't wait to drink in the atmosphere on Sunday - and hopes to get the big crowd bouncing.

He said: "A lot of the boys have spoken about the rivalry between Aberdeen and Rangers but I am new to Scottish football and still learning about it.

"It is going to be an experience for me and I'm sure it will be an unbelievable atmosphere. I can't wait for it to be honest.

"I have based my game on scoring goals and I have found myself on a good run at the moment.

"Hopefully I will be out there doing it again on Sunday."
