Marauding left-back Richie Byrne solidified a reserves defence that has leaked 8 goals in the last 2 games in this afternoon's 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Tannadice.

Byrne, in his first outing since a rib injury, came through the full ninety minutes unscathed against a United side that the Dons second string shipped 5 goals to at Pittodrie last week.

Following a scoreless first period, the home side took the lead midway through the second half through Marco Andreoni.

Darren Mackie scored an 89th minute equaliser when he tapped in a ball across the goalline from substitute Willie John Kiely.

Aberdeen: Esson, McVitie, Byrne, Macaulay, Skinner, Considine, Foster, Donald, Mackie, Maguire, Neill (Bagshaw 55 (Kiely 75)). Subs: Kelly, Thomas, Paton.
