A YOUNG Dons reserves side came from a goal down to thump their Dunfermline counterparts 6-1 at East End Park yesterday.

Exciting young prospect Chris "Phil" Maguire scored a brace and will surely join fellow goalscorer Kyle Macaulay in getting some first team action next season.

The Pars took an 11th minute lead, but that only served to fire up the Dons kids. Brian "Oh" Neill equalised after 26 minutes and Maguire made it 2-1 to the visitors three minutes later.

That was how the score stood until the 71st minute when Michael Paton, who had replaced Willie John Kiely a minute earlier, scored with almost his first touch of the ball.

Three goals in four minutes killed off the dismal Pars; Neill (84), Maguire (86) and Macaulay (88) scoring to complete Sandy Clark's team's biggest win of the season.

It was too little too late for the Dons though, who led the Reserve league for much of the season, and now look like ending the campaign in third or possibly even fourth.
