St Mirren Reserves 3 Aberdeen Reserves 1

ABERDEEN Reserves continued their poor season with a 3-1 defeat at Love Street.

Sandy Clark's charges have only won three games all season, and are struggling in tenth place in the SPL Reserve League.

Dyron Daal scored the only goal for the Dons in a comfortable win for the Saints, the only other high point for the Dons being the sight of Derek Soutar doing what he couldn't do five times against Queens Park in the CIS Cup - save a penalty.

Although Jimmy Calderwood has an almost fully-fit squad to select from, he must surely be getting concerned at the quality of back-up available to him, as seven members of the first-team squad played in yesterday's game.

With the January transfer window looming, there is a chance for the management to get rid of the underachievers who do not seem to care whether they make the breakthrough at Pittodrie or not.

Aberdeen - Soutar, Donald, D. Smith, Winter, Thomas (McVitie 79), Touzani, Kiely (Paton 66), Bagshaw, Daal, Maguire, S. Smith (Haswell 54).
