Youngsters Smash Accies

THE DONS' Under-19s continued their fine form as they smashed six goals past hapless Hamilton this afternoon.

The much-talked-about youngsters beat the Accies Under-19s 6-1 at New Southcroft Park.

The home side went ahead in the third minute but the Dons replied with goals from Callum McRobbie, Nicky Low, Nicky Clark and a hat-trick from captain Jonathan Crawford.

The stand-out goal was Clark's stunning 35-yard free kick.

The result means that the Under-19s extend their unbeaten run to over five months and continue their charge up the SPL U19 table.

This is yet more proof of the positive effect of the changes brought into AFC's youth set-up by Willie Miller.

Miller instigated the creation of the Aberdeen Football Club Youth Academy in June 2006, bringing in Head of Youth Development Lenny Taylor and clearing out the dead wood at the club.
