Aberdeen-Mad In The Scotsman Fanzone 24 Nov

ABERDEEN

In light of Celtic's recent preposterously infantile antics, Aberdeen would be perfectly within their rights to request that Willie Collum NEVER again officiates one of their games.

We wouldn't stoop that low, of course, but the referee's performance was so embarrassingly bad against St Johnstone, he managed, with able assistance from equally inept linesmen, to make a poor game even worse.

Every single contentious decision was misjudged. Collum looked like he'd never before seen a football match, let alone enjoyed a wealth of experience refereeing them in the top flight.

The whistlers are now threatening industrial action - well, strike away, this game would've been less chaotic with no referee at all.

But Mark McGhee, that's not why we lost. No, we lost because we can't defend, because the same weak links in our squad are being frequently exposed.

Distant dreams of silverware and a lofty SPL spot have long since diminished as now the dreaded 'R' word and thoughts of First Division football are beginning to filter through.
