ABERDEEN

There was something truly exciting about Chris Maguire's full international debut for Scotland last week. Aberdeen has had very few capped players in recent seasons; Lee Miller and Scott Severin are the only Dons so honoured in a shamefully threadbare list spanning the last decade or so.

However Severin and Miller were bought-in bounty hunters who were capped prior to their Pittodrie years. Maguire was brought through the much-vaunted Pittodrie Youth Academy and is a hugely exciting prospect who has done his time with the Scotland U21s with considerable aplomb. His cap is the first true vindication of AFC’s reformation of the youth system several years ago.

Here's hoping Bebo can become a Dark Blue mainstay – but will he still be in Red next season? We hope the club can now deliver that wish.
