ABERDEEN

So frequent has the term 'nine' been used by the press in the last week that you'd be forgiven for thinking you were reading German newspapers. However, on reflection maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing to be reminded of that pummelling received on the Dons' last visit to Parkhead, because after Saturday's performance it is clear for all to see just how far Brown and Knox have taken the team in such a short space of time.

Yes, there was a lack of cutting edge from the Reds but this was a Celtic team who currently have the best defensive record in the SPL and questions were asked of them during the 90 minutes. Indeed with a little bit of luck the team could have left with a point. Deserved? I'd say yes. In terms of commitment and effort I’d say we just edged it.

Celtic must have been shocked at the difference in Brown's team from the one they steamrolled so easily the previous meeting, and leaving the field battered and bruised they now know they are going to have a game on their hands in Saturday's cup semi-final.

Roll on Saturday... C'mon ye Reds!
