Thanks to the public nature of contract negotiations these days, Dons in the Tartan Army will have been going through complex emotions on Sunday. It was disappointing that Chris Maguire did not get a run-out against Brazil, however the possibility that he could have played a stormer and been a certainty to leave Pittodrie for out-of-contract peanuts in summer was scary.

Meanwhile, there was a small victory for fan power this week - AFC has responded to appeals from supporters by promoting a 'singing section' at Hampden for the cup semi. Fans who want to be part of this should buy tickets for the bottom half of Section A7 of the West Stand. Thanks AFC: next we want cheaper gate prices, better pies and a standing section please, cheers.
