ABERDEEN

THE Pittodrie Bar is always a welcoming hostelry but never more so than on Sunday. Having just witnessed Aberdeen's umpteenth capitulation of the season, the local provided a refuge from the abysmal fare on show just down the road.

I lasted until St Johnstone's third, gift-wrapped by our lot just like the first two. My patience has snapped: Langfield flapped; Ifil can't pass; Mackie can't control it; MacLean can't score; Kerr can't lead the team or pass; Marshall can't run; some can't be bothered; McGhee can't inspire; and, most worrying, the defence is suddenly disintegrating.

This motley crew had better show us they can do all these things - and show us now. I've backed them unswervingly but it's a two-way deal. Otherwise it looks like I'll be spending more of my weekends in the Pittodrie Bar.
