ABERDEEN

OUR European campaign was fantastic and exceeded even our wildest expectations. What a crashing bore it is, then, that we have to play our league games in Scotland.

Jimmy Calderwood is rightfully entitled to claim the glory and the praise he deserves for masterminding the campaign, but has to accept responsibility for the mess back home where he has six games left to salvage our season and his job.

'You don't know what your doing' was the charge from Dons' fans after the latest fiasco at Killie and given they'd seen our 20th central defensive partnership of the year and three formation changes by half-time, they had a point.

Willie Miller disgracefully dismissed such complaints as being from fans with "unrealistic expectations". What we've witnessed this year is the same sort of dire fare that Miller the pundit used to dismiss as "unacceptable". Obviously a six-figure salary as director of football changes one's viewpoint.
