ABERDEEN

Maybe it's the same copious consumption of festive spirits that transforms borderline boilers into ravishing sex goddesses after the 15th pint at the Office Christmas do, but somehow the Dons appear to be, well, looking no bad just now.

Hell, Darren 'Mackigol' Mackie even managed to send a chip into the net rather than into orbit on Saturday, Jeffrey De Hairdresser, it turns out, can play fitba (even if he still runs like a girl in high heels) and we scored three even with a half-fit Aluko.

Such is their level of contentment from Saturday's victory in Inverness that most Dons fans are willing to extend the old 'season of goodwill' thing to include the managerial genius formerly known as the Cuprinol Coated Buffoon… something that seemed almost unthinkable six or seven weeks ago.

Of course it should be pointed out that this run of form has coincided with a run of games against the SPL's bottom feeders and that the real tests are to come over the next month.

These tests start on Saturday, when Lazlo the Clown and his Lithuanian State Circus roll up to Pittodrie in front of what should be a bumper festive crowd eager to see us kill off their UEFA ambitions prior to their January firesale ending them for good.
