Aberdeen-Mad invades the Scotsman

Jim Leighton is a legend to Dons fans, no question. From playing his part in the glory years' defensive triangle of Miller-McLeish-Leighton, to his second coming in the late '90s and his terrible career finale on the end of Rod Wallace's violent studs, Leighton's playing days at AFC ensure he is close to our hearts forever.

We can only guess how effective he is on a training pitch, however.

While sentiment dictates that we believe Leighton to be the best coach in the world, it is up to Mark McGhee to decide if that is really so.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, any optimism from last week's routing of Hamilton came crashing to the ground like Aiden McGeady, as a dire 0-0 was played out in front of a disappointing home crowd.

As it is still to early for us to judge McGhee, at least the Well fans stepped in to give their none-too-complimentary verdict on his Fir Park departure...
