Aberdeen Back In For Lovell

Dons target Steve Lovell has decided against a move from Dundee to English Championship side Leicester City. The relegated Taysiders accepted a bid for the Englishman last week from the Foxes, and Lovell spent the weekend mulling over a contract offer. After some deliberation, the 24-year-old has chosen to stay with Dundee for the time being.

Leicester manager Craig Levein told the club's website of Lovell's reasoning: "After discussing the issue with his family back in Scotland, Steve felt that it wasn't the right move for him at this moment in time."

This news may well mean that Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood will come back in for Lovell despite previously having had bids thrown out by the Dundee board. The news that Jimmy had an offer for a mystery striker, possibly Paul Gallagher of Blackburn, turned down last night will mean that he is even more desperate to secure a striker before Friday, and he may now redirect his attention to Lovell again.
