Aberdeen Take German Keeper On Trial

ABERDEEN have taken German goalkeeper Daniel Strähle to the club on a trial period - and he kept a clean sheet in a friendly in Lossiemouth last night.

20-year-old Strähle was previously with German club 1899 Hoffenheim and has also played in Denmark.

Strähle did not have a lot to do in last night's bounce game but when called upon looked very secure, showed a good command of his area and good handling.

In the first half he came out bravely to block a shot and got a nasty facial knock after a very poor challenge, but was able to continue after treatment from David Wylie.

Intriguingly, Aberdeen's goalkeeper-turned-striker Josh Magennis started last night's game at centre half - and still opened the scoring when he met a corner from Dons captain Nicky Low to bullet a powerful header past the Lossie sticksman.
