Councillors Discuss Aberdeen's New Stadium

Last updated : 23 February 2011 By Stand Free Ed

A NEW football stadium for Aberdeen FC could take a step forward as councillors discuss the plan today.

The Dons hope to build the stadium, capable of holding about 21,000 fans, at a cost of up to £40m, at Loirston Loch in the south of Aberdeen.

Planners have already recommended approval for the stadium.

The stadium, which will be lit at night by a red glow, is set to include a gym, a club shop, museum and supporters' bar.

The application follows a public consultation, and Scottish ministers will have the final say.
