Craig Calls On Chris To Commit

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has called for Chris Maguire to remain at Pittodrie and declared his interest in Coventry's Isaac Osbourne.

Scotland forward Maguire is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and has been offered a new deal by the Dons.

Brown suggested any change in the offer made by Dons managing director Duncan Fraser and director of football Willie Miller to Maguire could be in the length of the deal and warned the forward moving could be to his long-term detriment.

"Chris has had a very good offer and hopefully he'll consider it favourably," Brown told the club's official website, www.afc.co.uk.

"I think it would very much be in his own best interests to remain and progress his career, rather than risk going somewhere where he could find himself on the bench or not even selected.

"It would be a retrograde step for Chris Maguire to go to a Championship team and end up on the bench."
