Craig Wants Back-To-Back

DONS gaffer Craig Brown celebrated victory in his first game as Aberdeen manager and immediately targeted a second win.

The 70-year-old former Scotland boss saw goals from Yoann Folly and Scott Vernon earn the Dons a 2-1 win at Hibernian to climb off the foot of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League ahead of Wednesday's clash at bottom club Hamilton.

Brown said: "I was brought up a Hamilton supporter but I'll not be a Hamilton supporter on Wednesday. I'm sure Hamilton are a very good side, but we're equipped to go away from home."

The win at Easter Road was Aberdeen's first since defeating Hibs 4-2 at Pittodrie on October 23 and ended a run of six straight losses, but Brown insisted relegation had never once crossed his mind since being installed as successor to Mark McGhee at Pittodrie.

"I've never mentioned the table, never looked at the table," Brown added. "The television guy was talking about a word that begins with 'r' and I've never mentioned that to the players.

"We hope it's not in our vocabulary. I don't want to introduce it to their vocabulary."

Brown, though, believes he must bolster his squad next month, with first signing David McNamee an unused substitute at Easter Road.

Brown added: "We still want to add to the existing squad which we think is good, but is very thin. We need players and we will seek players out in January, there's no doubt about that.

"I'm not saying we'll get them, but we have to try to improve the size of the squad and, if possible, the quality of the squad."
