TalkSPORT presenter and Birmingham City fan Ian Danter has told how he wants Jimmy Calderwood to manage his team - not Alex McLeish.

But the Brummie reporter, speaking on TalkSPORT's Hawksbee & Jacobs show, believes that City will snatch Scotland boss Alex McLeish from the SFA.

Kiss fan and City diehard Danter said: "I would've liked to see us go for Jimmy Calderwood up at Aberdeen.

"He is a former Birmingham player of course and has done a terriffic job getting a team of Scottish players through to the UEFA Cup groups."

Another former Don Eric Black has left the midlands club today to join former manager Steve Bruce at Wigan.

And Danter believes that pride stopped Black from forming a dream partnership with fellow Gothenburg legend McLeish.

He said: "I think Eric Black has gone because he knows he isn't going to be offered the manager's job. You can understand that."
