German defender Thomas Gentner, German goalkeeper Andreas Rossl and Swiss midfielder Edis Colic all featured in the 2-1 friendly defeat by Bochum last night.
But Brown told the club's official website: "We would like to thank all three players for spending the week with us but I felt none of the three was any better than the guys we already have in the squad."
