Dons Face Easter Road Opener

THE ABERDEEN support face their fifth opening day away trip in the last seven years to kick off the new SPL season.

The Dons will play Tony Mowbray's Hibernian at Easter Road on July 29th.

Aberdeen will be coming to terms with the loss of Kevin McNaughton but will have new boys Derek Soutar and Karim Touzani available, and all going well Stevie Hammell and a couple of other new faces will have joined the Dons squad by then.

Hibs' season starts a full month earlier due to their Intertoto Cup participation, and will have to cope with the loss of captain Gary Caldwell and also the fans reaction to Derek Riordan playing despite having signed a contract with Celtic.

The Dons' full fixture list cannot be displayed here due to the ridiculous licensing situation imposed by the football authorities.
