Aberdeen are reported to be close to signing 16-year-old Ham-Kam midfielder Fredrik Engelhardt.

The highly-rated Norwegian teenager impressed Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood during a recent trial, and the Dons seem to be ready to offer him a contract.

Engelhardt is reported to be relishing the opportunity of playing in the UK. It is reported on Sky Sports website that he told the Norwegian press: "It's the famous dream that can come true. I expect to receive a contract in the next few days."

15-year-old Ham-Kam striker Marcus Petersen, who will join Liverpool on trial in the summer, told Sky Sports: "Ham-Kam is very good with young players, they work hard with us and are not afraid to give us the chance."

Engelhardt spent a week at Pittodrie in March training under the careful scrutiny of youth coach Neil Cooper.

A Dons spokesman told the Evening Express: "If the transfer is completed Engelhart is seen very much as a player for the future."

The youngster still has a year left on his contract, so the deal now hinges on whether the Dons can thrash out a compensation package with Ham-Kam.
