ABERDEEN have taken advantage of new sponsorship rules by tying up a deal with Acergy to display their logo on the players' shorts next season.

The deal, which will commence at the start of the 2006/07 season, will see the Acergy logo appear on the Club's TV media backdrop boards, website and on the shirt of Club mascot Angus the Bull as well as on the front of the playing shorts of all the Club's professional teams.

Commenting on the deal, the Dons' Head of Operations Duncan Fraser said: "This is the first year that this sponsorship property has been available and we are delighted that Acergy has chosen to become our inaugural short sponsor and we look forward to partnering with them over the next two seasons."

Acergy, formerly Stolt Offshore, is a seabed-to-surface engineering and construction contractor for the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide.

Tim Sheehan, Acergy's Managing Director, said: "This sponsorship with Aberdeen FC is a great opportunity for Acergy to raise its profile locally and become involved with our local community.

"We are very much looking forward to being part of the team and enjoying on and off field success with Aberdeen FC. "

Acergy will be joined on the Club's two new kits for next season by Apex Tubulars, the new shirt sponsor of Aberdeen FC.
