Aberdeen will complete the signing of highly-rated Norwegian teenager Fredrik Engelhardt from Ham-Kam this week.

The 16-year-old midfielder impressed Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood during a recent trial, and the Dons have signed him for free with £15,000 compensation being paid to Ham-Kam.

HamKam were seeking £26,500 for the promising teenager, but have settled for a reduced fee to complete the deal after a month of negotiations.

Engelhardt is reported to be relishing the opportunity of playing in the UK. It is reported on Sky Sports website that he told the Norwegian press: "It's the famous dream that can come true. I expect to receive a contract in the next few days."

Engelhardt spent a week at Pittodrie in March training under the careful scrutiny of youth coach Neil Cooper.

A Dons spokesman told the Evening Express: "Engelhart is seen very much as a player for the future."

15-year-old Ham-Kam striker Marcus Petersen, who will join Liverpool on trial in the summer, told Sky Sports: "Ham-Kam is very good with young players, they work hard with us and are not afraid to give us the chance."
