ABERDEEN'S fourth round Scottish Cup tie will go ahead at 3pm today after events during the week seemed destined to cancel the fixture.

The chaos surrounding the Brechin versus Hamilton replay was compounded last night by sub-zero temperatures leaving Aberdeen covered in a carpet of white dung. (©The Day Today)

But, as can be seen from the Pittodrie RedCam still below, the undersoil heating has done its job and the pitch at Aberdeen's fortress is perfectly playable.

Aberdeen's loan signings Alan Maybury and Josh Walker are set to make their debuts today, with Jamie Smith, Sone Aluko, Richie Byrne, Karim Touzani out injured and Stuart Duff ineligible.

Aberdeen have been drawn against Hamilton in the Scottish Cup on nine previous occasions.

The Dons have triumphed seven times with Hamilton winning in 1925 and 1935. The last time the two clubs met in the competition was in 1993 when Aberdeen won 4-1 at Pittodrie.
