The Dons new defensive signing Sven Baas playing the whole 90 minutes as the Reds' reserves drew 2-2 with Rangers at Clyde's Broadwood Stadium.

Rangers took an early lead but the Dons equalized on the half hour with a superb free kick from the left peg of Scott Muirhead.

John Stewart was brought down inside the box after good work from Willie John Kiely in the 70th minute. Budgie picked himself up to stroke home the pen, only for the huns' second string to equalise ten minutes later.

Reserve team coach Sandy Clark told RedWeb: "To be honest, I'm disappointed we didn't take all three points but overall it was a reasonable display."

Aberdeen reserves: Langfield, Donald, Muirhead, Winter, Baas, Considine, Macaulay, Foster, Stewart, Dempsey, Mackie (Kiely). Subs - Kelly, Bagshaw, Skinner, McInnes
