It's been revealed that Hibs are in discussions to sign Scotland defender Grant Hanley.
Hanley, 33, is a free agent after leaving English club Birmingham City, and was in attendance at Easter Road last night as the Hibees lost 1-2 in the dying minutes of extra time to Danish side FC Midtjylland in the Europa League Qualifiers.
6ft 3in Hanley would most likely be a replacement for Aussie international Lewis Miller, who looks to be heading to Hanley's former club Blackburn Rovers in a £1m+ deal.
Hibs boss David Gray is said to be pushing hard to get the deal over the line.
Hanley started his career with Blackburn Rovers, playing over 200 times before moving to Newcastle United.
His time in the North East was short lived, playing only 10 times, before landing a move to Norwich City the following season, and going on to make nearly 200 appearances as well.
Hanley then moved on to Birmingham City, but only lasted one year and left this summer under freedom of contract.
He has also been capped 62 times for Scotland.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
Hanley would be a superb signing, one that that would bring a wealth of experience to ER.
Adding a 62 times capped player would be a wise move.
We now wait and see if the signing gets over the line.
