Jesper Move In The Balance

Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood has suffered another keeper blow with the news that tonight's Charlie Brown testimonial match between Forres Mechanics v Aberdeen has been cancelled due to bad weather.

Jimmy was due to see Feyenoord's Jesper Hoogendoorn in action tonight but now the move to take the keeper on loan until the end of the season is hanging in the balance.

Furthermore, Feyenoord's first-choice keeper Patrick Ludewijks seriously injured a knee at the weekend, and the Dutch club may need Hoogendoorn back as cover.

Calderwood told the Press & Journal: "Jesper would be ideal if we can get clearance from the SFA and UEFA but unfortunately Feyenoord's first-choice keeper was injured at the weekend.

"Feyenoord are in with a chance of the championship and won't want to take any unnecessary risks so this could be one of the shortest deals I have ever done.

"But hopefully he will be allowed to stay because they operate with four keepers. It will help greatly if we are able to assess him here as we are looking for a new keeper for next season."
