Dons manager and assistant, Jimmies Calderwood and Nicholl, met with the Aberdeen board of directors including Director of Football and club legend Willie Miller last night to thrash out next season's transfer budget.

Jimmy Calderwood said, "myself, Jimmy Nichol and Willie all share the same vision for the club and we want to progress further, which will mean getting in new players. However, the most important thing is the club and ensuring it is secure in the future. The board has been great with us so far and I am sure they will do all they can to give us money for players. We have a list of players drawn up and it will take time to look at all our options before we make our decisions."

Details of the outcome of the meeting are unlikely to ever be disclosed, but Jimmy will be satisfied with Aberdeen's good performance this season and the boost this has given to his chances of persuading the board to help his strengthen of the team. Another plus is the increase in attendance figures this season, with the average up some 2500 on last season with two big home games left to play.

Jimmy added, "It is great news that attendances are up on last season and the large crowds at Pittodrie is one of the reasons myself and Jimmy Nichol joined Aberdeen. Hopefully we can increase the attendances further and maybe break the 15,000 mark for the average gate."
