The prolific goalscorer is out of contract at Rugby Park this summer and is carefully weighing up his options, including a possible move to Pittodrie.

Boyd, who is still only 30 years old and scored 22 goals for relegation-threatened Killie last year, also revealed that other clubs are chasing his signature.

He said: "There’s been interest from [Aberdeen and Dundee Utd] but there’s been interest from numerous clubs.

"I’m going on holiday and I’m going to take my time over what I’m doing and make a decision from there. It’s a big decision for me.

"I’m coming to what I believe are the best years of my career and I want to give myself every chance to perform at a level where I know I can score goals but also get myself back in the Scotland set-up.

"The most important thing is to be winning games, you don’t want to be getting beat every week.

"You want to be pushing for the top six and at least giving yourselves a chance in the cup competitions.

"Aberdeen and Dundee United get the ball up the pitch in dangerous areas where I think I can be effective."
