Aberdeen have completed the signing of former Dunfermline and Partick Thistle 'keeper Jamie Langfield on a three-year deal. The 25-year-old's contract with the Fife club ended yesterday, and he joins up with the Dons after signing a pre-contract agreement in February.

Langfield was signed by Jimmy Calderwood for Dunfermline on a one-year deal after being released by Partick Thistle, and Jimmy has brought his summer signing to Aberdeen in an attempt to kick-start his career after a season on the Pars' bench.

The Paisley lad is pleased to be finally getting his chance to show Jimmy Calderwood what he's made of. He told RedWeb: "Coming to a club like Aberdeen at my stage of my career is a great honour. I'm just here to work hard and hopefully I'll push Ryan (Esson) all the way. I anticipate a big year for the club. We're moving in the right direction after last year's great season plus making some good signings. Aberdeen played some good football last year and I'm sure we'll continue that this season."
