McGhee To Leave Aberdeen...

DONS boss Mark McGhee has headed south on a spying mission on the lookout for summer transfers.

The Pittodrie gaffer intends to make the most of the club's free weekend to step up his player recruitment plans for the next transfer window.

And in order to get ahead of the game in the dog-eat-dog free transfer market, McGhee and his fellow Dons footballing staff will be all over the country taking in as many matches as possible.

He said: "I will be using the chance this weekend to take in some games - with at least one of them in England - and so will assistant manager Scott Leitch, [scout] Craig Robertson and, hopefully, Willie Miller.

"It is no secret we are looking in the free transfer market, which will make our task harder, but it is important we take in some games to see what's out there."
