Barry Nicholson will finally complete his £250,000 transfer to Aberdeen from Dunfermline Athletic tomorrow. The tenacious midfielder will have a medical at Pittodrie after agreeing terms with the Dons, and all going well will become Jimmy Calderwood's first big signing of the summer.

Nicholson is currently recovering from a double hernia operation but is expected to be fit for pre-season training next month. The 26-year-old Scottish international has been the subject of several bids from Aberdeen from the moment that Jimmy Calderwood arrived at the club. Despite the Pars failing to agree a fee last summer and during the January transfer window, Calderwood persisted until an agreement was finally reached just over a week ago allowing talks to commence with the player.
